The 2018-2019 football season for Howden Clough JFC was amazing all around, with hundreds of our local kids enjoying playing the game they love, and all of our coaches doing a fantastic job in developing the teams and making a positive difference to each and every child.
Every age group played brilliant football, but we would like to highlight a massive individual success for one of Under 10’s players, Reuben, who has done himself, his family, the coaches, his team mates and Howden Clough proud for been awarded the Coaches Player of the Year Award. Some poignant and words from Reuben’s mum;
“I want to thank the support and encouragement that Reuben as recieved from the howden clough coaches. The difference in past year in his confidence and self belief to a 10 year old boy that suffers from anxiety and never thinks he is ever quite good enough is priceless . The constant support to develop and to just enjoy the game and also the encouragement to play as a team player and help each other as created a child that loves the game and to try harder and be better each week. So what you give each training session and every match means more than you can ever imagine . In the world of so much anxiety in children these days you really do make a difference. Last night he recieved the coaches #playeroftheyearaward #supportandencouragement #makeadifference “.
So to Reuben and all of our players – Always believe and never give up! Congratulations Reuben.
